Section 30A
Drug treatment and accident insurance
(1) The manager shall provide medical treatment and accident insurance of a minimum of five lakh rupees for each working journalist working in the media establishment.
(2) In the event that any working journalist is injured in an accident in the course of the work of the media establishment, or if his limb is broken, or if he suffers from any other serious illness, he shall be treated from the amount insured under sub-rule (1).
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (1), fifty percent of the total insurance fee amount charged by the related media establishment and fifty percent of the related working journalists shall be borne.
(4) In the event of the death of a working journalist in an accident in connection with the work of a communication establishment, the amount of the insurance made according to sub-rule (1) shall be received by the person mentioned in section 16 of the Act.
(5) According to this rule, only because a working journalist has received money for treatment, it will not be considered that there is any obstacle in receiving treatment expenses according to rule 30.
(6) The media establishment shall insure every working journalist working in its establishment at the time of commencement of this rule within six months from the date of commencement of this rule in accordance with sub-rule (1) and inform the press registrar thereof.
